Check for Dial Tone at NID
You can check the NID on the side of your house for dialtone to help determine if the issue is with the internal wiring or somewhere on NineStar’s lines. This is done easiest with a corded style phone that you can plug directly into the incoming service.
Fiber Customers
For fiber customers, there will be a short jumper that plugs into the phone port. Disconnect this cable and plug the corded phone into this port. It should look similar to the image below, but could be a Calix or Zhone device instead of an Occam Networks.
Copper Customers
For copper customers, there will be a short jumper that plugs into the phone port. Disconnect this cable and plug the corded phone into this port. It should look similar to the image below.
