Candidate Statement: When I joined the board in 2021, my fellow board members told me that it would take the first three years to get up to speed. I have taken that challenge head on by taking full advantage of training and educational opportunities and volunteering for additional ways to serve our board. Three years in I can say that I am a passionate and engaged board member, deeply committed to the work of shaping the future of NineStar Connect. NineStar is an innovative organization built on a legacy of service and a desire to improve the quality of life and place for its members. I believe that my experience developing organizations has brought unique perspective and added value as a board member, including as an active contributor to our board’s newly approved strategic plan. As we continue to experience rapid growth in our service territory, it is important to have a fully engaged and well-informed board that will work collaboratively with senior leadership. As a board member, I strive to put members first in every conversation and decision that we make, so that we can continue to provide the best quality and cost-effective services that improve our communities. It is a privilege to serve this growing and thriving cooperative – I believe that our best days are ahead of us.
